Overview

All-inclusive pay-as-you-feel dining concept Everybody Eats put down permanent roots in Onehunga last year with a communal dining space feeding up to 150 people, five days a week. Now, in addition to fighting food waste and poverty, the initiative is set to tackle Auckland's complicated dating scene.

Held at the flagship restaurant on Friday, 17 July, Everybody Meets is a new style of singles night for those looking to meet likeminded people and do good at the same time. Swiping left on dating apps and nightclub hook-ups, the Everybody Eats team has designed an evening that they believe is "the perfect way for conscious people to get to know each other, give back, and with a little bit of luck meet someone special."

Attendees will enjoy three courses of food from the Everybody Eats kitchen, with time between courses to meet different people and grab a drink from Pals, Garage Project or Astrolabe. The tables will be communal to avoid one-on-one awkward conversations, and mutually interested people will be linked up after the night.

The suggested age bracket is 26–36 and the $55 ticket price covers the three-course dinner — with proceeds going to Everybody Eats.
