Overview
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is offering the photographer-lead Expert Sessions in order to help aspiring (and more established) photographers discover the beauty of indigenous cultures and the wonders and challenges of capturing these unique people through the photographic lens. Join international photographers Wayne Quilliam and Chris Rainier at the Meet the Photographers session on Monday June 2 as they discuss their work in this specialised photographic field.
At 1pm you'll have the chance to be part of a private audience with renowned photographer, Professor Wayne Quilliam. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Wayne Quilliam is regarded as one of Australia’s most respected photographers for his work in Indigenous and International Affairs. Quilliam has been the winner of the Aboriginal Artist of the Year, Human Rights Award and the Walkley Award as well as being nominated as a Master of Photography by National Geographic.
Stick around because at 3pm there's a talk by American photographer Chris Rainier who specialises in the documentation of indigenous cultures and is considered one of the leading documentary photographers working today. Chris has won numerous awards for his photography, including the Lowell Thomas Award given by the Explorers Club for his work with endangered cultures.
