Overview

Labelled New Zealand's most inspiring event, Festival for the Future is a celebration of the country's most enthusiastic do-gooders, all striving to make the world a better place and encourage meaningful conversations.

400 young entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, scientists, students, environmentalists and activists, annually gather for the weekend-long event, which combines passionate guest speakers, hands-on workshops, entertainment, and food.

A line-up of remarkable young innovators have been confirmed to take centre stage this year, including: a doctor who managed to fight blindness with $20 and a smartphone, the founder of a vegan cosmetics company, a campaigner for clean energy and climate change, a thespian that tackles social issues with humour, the leader of an initiative for intersex youths, the youngest person to be named in Australia's Most Influential Women list, an advocate for disability, a gentleman adept in making awesome decisions, and a whole lot more.

Following the daily programme, Q Theatre will host a schedule of live entertainment. Already announced artists include a solo set from indie-folk artist Tiny Ruins and pop musician Jamie McDell. The Saturday morning will also begin with a morning dance party hosted by Rise & Shine Wellington.
