Overview

After hosting pop-ups across the central city suburbs, Emma Ogilvie and Nick Landsman are transforming their La Pêche (translating as 'the peach') concept into a full-blown day festival. The one-off Fête de La Pêche event will offer the pair's usual supply of "neo-bistro-style" food, natural wine and craft beer, with the addition of sounds and petanque.

Held at Herne Bay Petanque Club on Saturday, 1 December, the event aims to capture the vibe of a sun-drenched afternoon in the south of France. A long communal dining table will be assembled and picnic blankets will carpet the club lawn so you can lay out in splendour for an afternoon of day drinking.

The menu will feature a raw bar displaying freshly shucked oysters, salmon tartare and octopus salad, while the grill will be sizzling with market fish and merguez hotdogs. A picnic section stocking fresh bread, pastries, cheeses, charcuterie, salads will be available to takeaway in tote bags so you can carry on the party at home. A small lineup of DJs, including Native B, Off Da Grid and Forest Bump, will complete the experience.

Fête de La Pêche is a cashless event. Tickets are $50 which includes general admission and $25 of Peach Ca$h to use within the festival on entry. Ticket holders will also be able to purchase more tokens on the day. Prepayments or catering for large groups can also be arranged by emailing eat@frenchfriedfood.com.
