Five Boroughs at East Street Hall
The fast-food diner is popping up with triple cheeseburgers and deep-fried Oreos.
Overview
Before closing its doors for good, Wellington's Five Boroughs was a New York-style diner known for its bottomless coffee and decor lifted straight from a Woody Allen film. Last making an Auckland appearance as a late-night diner in Ponsonby — before owner Elie Assaf took up the role of head chef at Williams Eatery — the burger joint is set to return for a two-night pop-up this March.
On Monday, 29 and Tuesday, 30 March from 5pm until sold out, Five Boroughs will be serving up its American-influenced diner food at East Street Hall.
Be sure to set aside a cheat day — the menu holds no punches with the likes of triple cheeseburgers and buttermilk fried chicken burgers. New to the menu are Southern/Sichuan fried chicken bites and deep-fried Oreos, while the much-loved 'Crack Fries' topped with cheese and gravy will be there for hardcore fans. Drool over the menu here.
