Overview
The event touted as the perfect summer party will return to Waiheke Island in February, After five years, the festival is expanding to two action-packed days.
Flamingo Pier first popped up in New Zealand on the auspicious date of February 14, 2015. The flagship event was founded on a floating pontoon in East London's Hackney Wick by expats Tom Seaton and Luke Walker, assembling three of life's pleasures under the stars: eating, drinking and dancing. It's since been called things like "London's best party" and "top of the popups" by the UK press.
The sixth outing of Flamingo Pier will once again be held within the natural amphitheatre of Waiheke's Rangihoua Estate. As well as open-air disco jams, tree-hung hammocks, cocktails served from a boat and a dancefloor under the forest canopy, the event will include nourishment from a selection of A+ food vendors.
Acts lined up to take the stage on Friday, February 7 include British broadcaster and DJ Gilles Peterson, Wellington multi-instrumentalist producer Lord Echo, Melbourne dance music legend DJ Jnett, English DJ and music producer Miles Cleret, plus K2K, Julien Dyne and the Flamingo Pier crew.
The following evening on Saturday, February 8 will welcome Sadar Bahar by way of Chicago, premier disco producer Ray Mang, Swedish electronic duo Mount Liberation Unlimited, Dutch tag-team Kamma & Masalo, plus Nathan Haines & Jaimie Present ZMC, Frank Booker and Peach Milk.
