Overview

Folk rock band the Fleet Foxes are bringing their soulful tunes back to Auckland this January. Set to play to a sold-out crowd at the Town Hall on January 14, it will be the American band's first time back to New Zealand since 2009.

The six-piece are best known for their blend of 1960s folk rock, pop and beautiful vocal harmonies.

Their self-titled album was an instant hit in 2008 - it received four out of five stars from Rolling Stones, who compared their sound to the Beach Boys, Animal Collective and Crosby, Stills and Nash.  It also gained 9.0 out of 10 in a review by Pitchfork Media, a five star review from the Guardian and was rated album of the year by Billboard's Critic's Choice.

Their latest album, Helplessness Blues was released earlier this year to similarly rave reviews. If you are lucky enough to have a ticket to the gig, you'll no doubt be in for a night of atmospheric and uplifting music.
