Fans of Fleetwood Mac can rejoice as the band prepares to make their way back down to New Zealand.
Throughout the band’s colourful career they have been through countless personnel changes, bust-ups, inner band partner swapping and even the creation of a second, fake version of the band created by a sneaky manager. Either way, they’ve still managed to sell in excess of 100 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The legendary British-American group were last scheduled to perform down under in 2013 in support of their first new studio album in 10 years. The shows were rightly cancelled so bass player John McVie could undergo cancer treatment. Having been given the all clear following an improvement in his condition, McVie and the rest of the classic 1975 lineup are back together again. Keyboardist Christine McVie will also rejoin her band mates Mick Fleetwood (the only original member), Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks after a 16-year absence.
The forthcoming show will be part of the On With The Show World Tour to Australia and New Zealand, marking the group’s first series of concerts in our part of the world since 2009. The two Auckland shows will be the last leg of the 130-date tour.
