Overview
The minds behind 7 Days and award-winning short films Brown Peril and Only Son, The Downlow Concept, bring their unique brand of Kiwi comedy to the screen with Gary of the Pacific. The film follows the mishaps and misadventures of Gary, a struggling real estate agent who somehow becomes the king of a sinking Pacific Island.
You may have seen its star Josh Thomson, as the token funny guy on Three's new current affairs show The Project. It remains to be seen if he can carry a film, but early signs point to him being spot on with comedic timing and the occasional light-hearted bad taste gag. The film also features Megan Stevenson, Flava funnyman Dave Fane, Matt Whelan, Dominic Ona-Ariki, Taofi Mose-Tuiloma and the legend Leigh Hart. It was filmed on location between Rarotonga and New Zealand.
