Goodshirt

The last Goodshirt show was New Years Eve 2005 at the Kings Arms. But now with all of the band members living in the same city again, they’ve been jamming, coming up with new material and practicing our old favs.

Overview

It's been ages, but Goodshirt are finally back together. They’ll be playing at the Kings Arms on December 22 and then later supporting Hall and Oates and Icehouse in January.

The Auckland-based alternative pop band is made up of brothers Rodney and Murray Fisher, Gareth Thomas, and Mike Beehre.  Their first album, Good, was released in 2001 and featured the massively catchy number one single Sophie, which won single of the year at the 2003 NZ Music Awards.

Good spent seven months in the Top 50 charts, selling more than 25,000 copies. In 2004 they released their second album, Fiji Baby. The title track reached number one in the New Zealand charts and was also nominated for an Apra Silver Scroll in 2004.

The last Goodshirt show was New Years Eve 2005 at the Kings Arms.  Since then the band members have been moving in different directions and collaborating up with other musicians. But now with all of the band members living in the same city again, they’ve been jamming, coming up with new material and practicing our old favs – should be an interesting gig this week – dancing shoes required.
