Overview

Vancouver native Grimes is coming south this Summer - and this is a show you won't want to miss.

If you haven't listened to much Grimes she sounds a bit like a Santigold/ENYA lovechild that grew up in the eighties. Get it? Nah, probably not, but if you listen to it you'll know what I mean. It's sort of 'other world'/ethereal industrial dream pop - whatever that means. Either way it's pretty darn good, so get your head phones on and have a listen to her most recent album Visions.

Aside from her music Grimes also has her fingers in a number of other pies including the visual arts, music video direction and jewellerey making. And when I say jeweller and 'fingers in a number of other pies', there's no point in beating round the bush because I mean it literally. In April this year Grimes (aka Clare Boucher) released a line of rings in the shape of the female genitalia. What a [pussy] riot!

Anyway this will definitely be a show worth locking in now because by all accounts tickets are selling really fast. Support acts have yet to be announced but will be sure to include a smattering of NZ's finest.

*Relocated to the larger Powerstation venue from the Kings Arms.
