Overview

Celebrated worldwide as the festival of lights, Diwali has quickly become a key event in the Auckland calendar. Auckland's Hare Krishna community is seeking to showcase Diwali in a different light, educating guests on the meaning behind the festival.

Head to Kumeu to experience the famous hospitality of those belonging to this community and celebrate one of the most important Hindu festivals. Experience a more traditional take on Indian culture with customary dances, participate in the offering of lamps, enjoy the delicious food stalls, and more.

Partake in rangoli, a traditional art form, experience henna for yourself and stay for the bonfire and fireworks to end the festival. A family-friendly event, there is free entry, parking and a wide selection of delicious vegetarian and vegan food to enjoy.

Experience a traditional Diwali this year with the Hare Krishna community and enjoy the food, fun and fireworks while celebrating this iconic festival.
