Based around testimonials from one of the most harrowing times in Australia's history.

Overview

Based around testimonials of the Stolen Generation of Australia, HART is sure to be a heart-wrenching show that's well worth a watch. Between the years of 1900 - 1970 a number of children were taken from their families in a controversial effort by the government to ‘keep them safe’. Ian Michael and She Said Theatre brings us this performance of HART after an encouraging couple of wins at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

The show outlines three generation's accounts of the harrowing time in Australia's history. Michael's says the motivation for collaborating the voices of his people for the show was, “As a young indigenous person and performer, it's vital to be able to tell the stories and the truth from my people. Especially stories of survival and resilience.”

Expecting HART to be an honest performance is an understatement, so I won't say it. Instead I'll say this will be a unique experience coming from our neighbouring country down-under, into their history and the turmoil of their indigenous people.
