Overview

Calling all sauna lovers, Silo Park's new photography exhibition Heat Tonic is an artistic depiction of the transformative effects a steaming session has. Aaron Burgess focuses not only on the physical benefits of the sauna but also the mental ones.

Spurred by recent research supporting claims that saunas can increase longevity, he explored these benefit and noticed how, "After a sauna, people begin to relax, letting down their guard and almost forgetting about the camera." His images capture, "A real, natural and honest reflection of the sitter."

With photos taken straight after each subject leaves the sauna, it reflects a rejuvenated body and a calm mind.

Running from April 6 to 19, the exhibition is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturday and Sundays from 11am until 3pm. On April 6 and 13 it will be open after hours until 10pm with an artist's talk on the 7th from 1-2pm.
