Overview

Q Theatre transforms into a Studio 54-inspired concert in Silo Theatre's Here Lies Love.

From 22 November, disco lovers will be immersed in a night of unchecked desire, art pop and opulent disco in a cabaret-style stage adaptation of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's album Here Lies Love.

Inspired by the rapid rise and fall of Imelda Marcos, the 2010 album uses disco pop to tell a gritty political story of love, loss and obsession, featuring the likes of Cyndi Lauper and Sia. Silo Theatre director Sophie Roberts brings to life the fixation on nightlife that saw Marco turn one of her New York townhouses into a disco. The public is invited to the depths of Q Theatre for an imaginative spectacle, where you can expect seductive songs that marry materialism to the rush of the nightclub sung by five fierce divas.

The show stars Silver Scroll 2018 finalist Ria Hall, theatre icon Jennifer Ward-Lealand and actor-singer Colleen Davis. Renowned musical director, Robin Kelly will lead the music for the season with a live band.

A perfect pre-Christmas party, Here Lies Love will be at Q Theatre's Rangatira from 22 November to 8 December.
