Overview

Local legends Hopetoun Brown join forces with psychedelic jazz weirdos Carnivorous Plant Society for two unmissable evenings of song and dance at The Wine Cellar on 24 and 25 October. Hopetoun Brown are New Zealand's very own blues brothers and are know to make a hell of a racket. No wonder considering both Tim Stewart (vocals, trumpet, trombone, stomping) and Nick Atkinson (saxes, hollering) are from legendary funk-rock group Supergroove. They've been long-time mates and collaborators with Carnivorous Plant Society who have made a name for themselves through free form cinematic jazz. As such, they will undoubtedly be jumping in and out of each others sets to show off their musical chops and with plenty of old and new material to choose from, it will be a richly varied couple of nights filled with technical skills and loose house party vibes. Bring your dancing shoes and be ready to embrace the unexpected. Tickets available at Under the Radar.
