Calling all wine connoisseurs: the Winemakers Weekend at the luxurious Huka Lodge is back, with two of New Zealand's best wineries and the lodge's culinary team collaborating to create an epic weekend filled with incredible food, degustation dinners and award-winning wines.

Held at the opulent Taupo Lodge from Friday, September 15 - Sunday, September 17, the weekend will give two of New Zealand's best wineries — Trinity Hill and Peregrine Wines — the chance to showcase everything they have to offer the wine world.

Trinity Hill, based in Hawke's Bay, is best known for its talented wine and food pairings, while Peregrine Wines champion its "hands-on" approach to winemaking, which the team has been doing for almost 30 years.

While the experience is on the pricier side, you'll be treated to a long weekend of decadence in dining rooms and suites that have previously hosted many high-profile guests.

The $2800 a night package covers your accommodation and all of your food and drink for the weekend. You'll be treated to two five-course degustation dinners, held by winemakers. To make sure you've got an appetite for all those courses, you will also get full access to the Huka Lodge facilities, including the tennis court, petanque, croquet and two jacuzzi pools.

And this will be one of your last chances to stay at the glorious Huka Lodge in its current state, with the accommodation's new owners, Baillie Lodges, announcing a "significant" renovation. The lodge will be taking final bookings until Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and returning with a fresh build and redesign in December 2024.
