Ides at Culprit

Melbourne's IDES is regularly thrown in the ring as one of the top 100 restaurants in Australia. Chef-owner Peter Gunn worked under the guise of the legendary Ben Shewry at Attica before striking out on his own with the Collingwood 36-seater.

While you could splash out on the airfare to experience Gunn's modern cuisine, you don't really have to. For two nights this April, the esteemed chef is coming to Auckland CBD restaurant Culprit to serve a seven-course tasting menu.

On Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18, Gunn and his team will serve diners one snack, bread, four savoury courses and one sweet to finish from the IDES menu. That looks like: sesame sourdough and peanut butter, pumpkin flowers, barramundi, beef short rib and elderflower strawberries.

The degustation is $145 per person, with wine matches available for an additional cost.
