Overview

For a celebration of the latest and greatest docos on the big screen, the IMAX Doco Film Fest is returning this August.

The opening night of the festival on 28 August will feature a film about some of the world's most remarkable dogs and pups in Superpower Dogs. Narrated by Chris Evans, this puppy packed doco is perfect for all ages, with a goody bag and drink included in the ticket price. Plus, for every ticket sold one kilogram of Pedigree Quality Pet Food will be donated to local animal shelters.

This film festival will also take you to the furthest corners of space and the deepest parts of the ocean, with films ranging from Apollo 11 — an award-winning look back at the moon landing — to Alex Honnold's attempt at becoming the first person to climb Yosemite's El Capitan without ropes in Free Soloand the Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet-narrated Deep Sea 3D. You'll be immersed into a world of lemurs, pandas, puppies and planets with NZ's biggest and most immersive IMAX screen.
