Overview

Jamie McDell’s new album Ask Me Anything sees her drift away from the ocean and delve more into the realm of uncomplicated story telling. The release will also see her head out on her first ever full blown nationwide tour.

Armed with an acoustic guitar and her raw and honest voice, McDell will drop by town centres between Kaitaia to Dunedin to perform songs from Ask Me Anything for the first time, as well as material from her Tui-winning debut album Six Strings And A Sailboat.

The Auckland performance will be held at Mt Eden's Crystal Palace Theatre, which was one of the city' busiest clubs in the 1930s. In between the odd concert, is it now predominantly used for monthly screenings of the worst movie ever made, The Room.

She will be joined by her live band The Caxixis, made up of Scott Pearson (Elemeno P), Tom Healy (Paquin), Tamsyn Miller (Chess Countess), Shohan Hustiwck (Kingston) and Cass Mitchell (Tiny Ruins).

Her new album was recorded with producer Stuart Crichton, who has previously worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden. It tells the stories of places, people, and situations that she has experienced in the three years since her debut.
