Overview
Leaving for the United Kingdom at the end of this month, Sheehan and his band present the Bon Voyage tour, showcasing brand new material off his upcoming and debut album, produced by legendary Kiwi songwriter Neil Finn at Roundhead Studios.
Sheehan is a bit of a wonderboy, finding his first musical acclaim at an extraordinarily young age. He was the first solo artist in the competition's history to win the national final of the Smokefree Rockquest in 2009, aged just 17, with a performance “marked by remarkable passion, confidence in his songs and that wild red afro of his” (Hartung, NZMusician). His next success came with the release of his debut EP A Crack In Everything in 2011, two songs from which EP made the top 20 lists for the APRA Silver Scroll award.
The release of his next EP in 2013, How the Lights Get In was produced at The Lab in Auckland, where Olly Harmer recorded most of the EP and Jol Mulholland mostly looked after the mixing. It features vocals from New Zealand greats Lisa Crawley and Anika Moa.
Now 21, with so much acclaim under his belt, Sheehan is headed for far away shores. Do not miss your last chance for a while to catch this local talent in his element.
