Overview

Best known for hawking irresistible contemporary Chinese food around the streets and markets of Auckland, the team behind Judge Bao will pull the handbrake on their food stall for a three week residency at K' Road bar Lovebucket this month.

For the pop-up, owners Sauce Boss and Bun Hun have constructed a menu alongside the Lovebucket team, tangling comfort food with Asian flavours and specially-designed drink matches. The menu will offer both small and large sharing plates and will notably be completely free of the pair's infamous pillow-soft bao.

Rather, there will be a take on Hawaiian raw fish salad— poké, mac 'n' cheese, as well as Chinese comfort food such as congee (rice porridge). If past Judge Bao pop-ups are anything to go by, you can rest assured that it will be an evening of exquisite, boundary pushing food.

The residency will take place across three weekends from May 11-13, 18-20 and 25-27, 4pm til late.
