Get amongst the greenery at this experimental exhibition of Tongan flower designing.
Overview
Māngere-based artist Sione Monu weaves connections between place, people and environment, working with nimamea'a tuikakala — Tongan flower design.
An ongoing series, developed between Monu, Objectspace Assistant Curator Elle Loui August, and Fresh Gallery Ōtara, if you happened to see the iteration of the show at Fresh, you'll appreciate the growth of the work and the developing series of workshops.
Head along to the first workshop in the Objectspace courtyard on 9 December and get amongst the greenery.
Monu is a member of artist collectives FAFSWAG and Witch Bitch and works with photography, moving image, fashion and adornment, performance and drawing.
