Overview

Using synthesisers, drums and a turntable, Keys N Krates take electronic music into their own hands, beyond the shiny glare of a laptop.

The Canadian trio formed in 2008 with an aim of bringing more live instrumentation into the genre. In 2013 they released their critically acclaimed EP titled SOLOW which was released by EDM A-lister Steve Aoki via his imprint Dim Mak Records. It spurred singles ‘Dum Dee Dum’ and ‘Treat Me Right’, the latter which hung around at number one on Hype Machine.

They’ve since released a collaborative EP with fellow Canadian producer Grandtheft and played some of the world’s biggest music festivals: TomorrowWorld, Lollapalooza and Ultra Music Festival.

Keys N Krates play Auckland's Studio Venue on Saturday 14 March. Support from George FM DJs The Beat Mafia, Daniel Farley, Mike Ross, Stack & Piece and Jono Fektious & Thomas Gates-Bowey.
