KiwiHarvest Goodness Gala 2023
Helping others has never tasted so good.
Overview
All Blacks, New Zealand's top chefs, incredible food and helping those in need? Sounds like a perfect night out. Food rescue organisation, KiwiHarvest, is bringing back its Goodness Gala on Saturday, August 26, in an effort to raise funding and achieve its goal of feeding the hundreds of thousands of Kiwis struggling with food insecurity.
KiwiHarvest rescues food from a range of businesses – including supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and hotels — and redistributes it to those in need. Through its work, the charity has successfully saved almost 10 million kilograms of food and delivered 28 million meals to vulnerable Kiwis.
KiwiHarvest Collective is a subsection of the charity made up of five of Aotearoa's top culinary talent: Peter Gordon, Michael Meredith, Brent Martin, Kylee Newton and Alfie Ingham. This star-studded team has been tasked with designing the four-course menu gala guests will enjoy on the night, which will be created using ingredients rescued by KiwiHarvest.
The epic night will be held at the five-star Park Hyatt Hotel, where the chefs will share their secrets to decreasing food waste, while you enjoy live music, and an auction — giving diners the chance to bid on a huge range of luxury items.
Attendees will also be treated to a discussion with an expert panel packed with rugby royalty, as New Zealand stares down the barrel of Rugby World Cup mania. Former All Blacks captain and chair of KiwiHarvest David Kirk will be leading the expert panel, made up of former Wallabies captain Nick Farr-Jones and Black Ferns captain Sarah Hirini.
While tickets are on the dearer side at $350, each ticket sold will allow KiwiHarvest to deliver 1000 meals to Kiwis who desperately need it – while you enjoy the wine-matched four-course menu and bubbles. Helping others has never tasted so good.
