The first in a series of pop-up evenings at Williams Eatery will see chef Elie Assaf bring the Lebanese recipes of his mother to the Wynyard Quarter restaurant on Sunday, March 22.

Starting at 6pm, Assaf will showcase the beloved food of his childhood as outlined in his cookbook — also entitled Yola — which is dedicated to his mother and celebrates the way food brought his family and friends together. The menu is banquet style and you can expect shawarma, baba ghanouj and the homemade baklava of Assaf's youth on offer.

Though it is a set menu, the team at Williams will try to cater for dietary requirements, please contact directly to with requests to [email protected].
