Overview

August 16 marks National Poetry Day and to celebrate the wonder of words and the power of voices, The Literatti return to the Voyager Maritime Museum with an interactive poetry exhibition and special performance.

The Literatti's 'a Capella' poetry performance explores what landmarks mean to us. "Landmarks is like The Literatti naked," says previous creative director Miriam Barr, "we're stripping away the music, returning to our voices and hanging our words out on the page for everyone to see."

The Literatti is an eclectic and evolving pool of poets who get together to craft performance poetry. You can experience their innovative brand of poetry at the free lunch time performance between 12 and 1 plus the chance to create some poetry of your own. At the exhibition you'll have the opportunity to read work from the Literatti and be a part of a collaborative poem created by the public throughout the day. The exhibition runs from 10am-5pm.
