Language of Love
A masterclass in big league aphrodisiacs.
Overview
Getting in early on the Valentines buzz this year, urban farmers market, florist and restaurant Scarecrow will mark the week of love with a workshop on two big league aphrodisiacs. Taking place at the inner city community space on Wednesday 10 February, the suitably titled Language of Love workshop will see the resident florist take the lead in creating hand-tied posies. The hour-and-a-half session will be intertwined with conversation about the traditional symbolism attached to flowers and where these meanings originated from.
Christchurch-based dessert experts She Universe will round out the evening with a masterclass on the divine being that is chocolate. In case you needed any more reason to attend, the lesson will look at the history and mystery of chocolate, including blind tasting and how to chocolate fondue.
Across Valentine's weekend, sustainable-foccussed chef Ben Barton has created a special brunch menu for Scarecrow including freshly shucked oysters and champagne for two. There will also be Scarecrow picnic hampers available to takeaway.
