Overview

And just when you thought we had covered all the bases of reasons for novelty flags in Auckland, there’s yet another shindig calling for a trip to the $2 shop and some serious flapping action. In what is without a doubt one of the most quintessential British traditions, The Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra presents their rendition of The Last Night of the Proms.

A night to dabble with some British hilarity and hi-jinks, this is sure to be a show of magical proportions. Enjoy the great orchestral repertoire in the first half, then cut loose with banners and flags to the strains of Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory and other traditional numbers under the baton of English conductor, Christopher Seaman.

In line with tradition, fancy dress and wigs are a staple of the madness. So don your Union Jacks and rustle together a gang for a night of fun and absolute entertainment for what can only really be described as true British euphoria.
