Overview
For those who happened upon this preview hoping for a revival screening of the 1962 British war film set in the Arabian Peninsula, Google has deceived you. Go back to go, do not collect $200 and try again.
However, for those hoping to see the folk singer Lawrence Arabia, you've come to the right place, welcome.
James Milne by day, folk singer by night, the ex-The Brunettes guitarist/bassist, ex-Ruby Suns drummer, and ex-Okkervil River bassist has been spearheading his own band since his 2006 release of his debut album The Dance Reduction Agents. His follow-up album, Chant Darling was awarded a a Taite Music Prize/Silver Scroll, and his songs have featured on Taika Waititi's Eagle vs Shark. His latest album, The Sparrow, is self-described as "a more measured and minimalist work, drawing particularly on the influence from the symphonic late-sixties work of Scott Walker and Serge Gainsbourg."
Lawrence Arabia will play at the Wine Cellar on the 23rd of October, Leigh Sawmill Cafe on the 1st of November and The Lucha Lounge on the 14th of November.
