Overview

Ironbank launches its newest creative space, The Salon. Head along on Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 for The Salon's first show - Lineage, which showcases the work of seven local female artists.

Lineage features artwork in a variety of disciplines from artists Jillian Friedlander, Sue Dickson, Dorota Broda, Susan Wells, Alvie McKree, Denise Murphy and Jill Varani. Drawing inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s “For we think through our mothers, if we are women”, their work represents seven personal journeys which explore the complexities of relationships.

First-time exhibitor Jillian Friedlander, is showing both painted and photographic work which investigate the layers of life. She says, “Ironbank is an ideal place to foster and harbour free creative thinking – there’s already a dynamic community of creative talent here and it’s really exciting to be a part of it."

The Salon is designed to be a place for emerging and established artists alike to exchange ideas, generate sparks of inspiration and light creative fires. Pop in for your fill of inspiration and keep an eye out for upcoming events in this dynamic new creative space.
