Overview
Alongside Bill Clinton becoming president of the USA, the Maastricht Treaty being signed in Europe and Buckingham Palace opening its doors to the public, 1993 also saw the formation of a Minnesota-based band called Low.
Besides their minimalistic, ambling sound and eery vocals, the rock band have made a bit of name for themselves for their unusual live shows - where punters are known to listen to their songs while seated on the floor and sometimes, when rude beer slinging audience members at the venues' bars are too loud, Low turn their music right down in order to get their attention again.
Low also gained attention after having their song 'Little Drummer Boy' feature in a Gap ad and 'Point of Disgust' on Skins. They've also performed across the board, including at SXSW, Rock the Garden and Primavera Sound Festival.
