Overview

George Miller was perhaps one of the first directors to base an entire film around a car chase. His Mad Max series is electrifying, breathtaking, white-knuckle cinema at its best, and the entire series is coming to Hollywood Avondale for a day-long movie marathon.

Held on Saturday, 13 April, the Mad Max Marathon will revisit all four films in the Australian dystopian action series. The marathon will begin with the original Mad Max (1979), telling the story of a highway patrolman Max Rockatansky — a role which put Mel Gibson on the map — as he cruises barren wastelands after a berserk motorbike gang. The mind-blowing action continues in The Road Warrior (1981), Beyond Thunderdome (1985), and the 2015 reboot Fury Road starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.

There will be ten minutes between films and a 45-minute dinner break before the final film. Tickets are $34.95 or $49.95 for a BYO bean bag spot.
