Overview

After a successful tour playing shows on both sides of America, electronic pop act Madeira has returned to more familiar shores. Her debut EP – Bad Humors – is out now via American independent record label Carpark Records, and audiences here are about to get the chance to hear it in all it's live glory.

From self-confessed no-good member of school choirs to former vocalist of Yumi Zouma, Kim Pflaum's distinctive voice has been heard across various projects. But her solo reincarnation as Madeira is what we will know and hear her as from now on. Floating melodies and Pflaum's enchanting voice juxtapose the heavy but inherently human themes of betrayal and heartache explored on the EP.

Madeira will play Auckland's Whammy Bar on Friday 25 November, with support from Kip McGrath and The Echo Ohs, before heading to Wellington to play at Newtown's Moon bar.
