Tallulah Holly-Massey's second work, Mammoth, is an example of quirky creativity at its finest. As part of the Tallulah's Basement Residency, Mammoth follows on from Tender is the Night which received rave reviews for its performance and artistry.
The work is an investigation into hair as a signifier of social, cultural and sexual identity, performed by four irreverent young dancers/actors. The inspiration for the movement is drawn entirely from internet tropes and videos of mammals socialising. The cast is made up of two dancers, two actors and a live musician — Sione Fataua, Benjamin Mitchell, Ariaana Osborne and Arlo Gibson.
Although not a performance about the prehistoric, tusked behemoths of the ice-age, this is certainly a production that will keep you engaged and enthralled.
