Overview

In a potentially successful attempt to defer our minds from the upcoming New York Fashion Week, New Zealand is pulling a few tricks out of its sleeve to act as a decoy for those who are bordering on insanity due to the vast ocean that lies between us and the iconic catwalk.

In a lead-up to our own New Zealand Fashion Week, Stephen Marr’s six Marr Factory shows are presented by Bombay Saphire at Ponsonby's Golden Dawn. The shows span a week-long event from August 17-23, with Autumn Winter 2015 collections shown for industry audiences, and six Spring Summer 2014 shows that are open to the public.

Karen Walker, Nom*D, Zambesi, Workshop, Helen Cherry and Kate Sylvester have all confirmed their presence at the shows to soothe our eagerly anticipating minds as to the trends of the upcoming season. Then the Kiwi fashion classics will be followed up with a final “MF Gatecrashers” show by five young designers. The last show features brand new labels Eugenie, Harman Grubisa, Penny Sage, Glen Prentice and Georgie Alice who are ready and waiting in line to hijack the top spot as the New Zealand's next top local designer.

So if you're keen to check out the blossoming designers then you'll want to camp on Ponsonby Road for the night.
