Overview

Actor, author, presenter, comedian and Monty Python cast member, Michael Palin, is coming to New Zealand with a new, suitably named live event, Michael Palin – Live on Stage.

The visit also happens to come alongside the third volume of his acclaimed ‘Diaries’ series, which gives readers a warts-and-all rundown of the comedian’s life. His latest output, Travelling to Work 1988-1998, is based around his travel broadcasting career where he spent time traipsing around exotic locations for the series, Around the World in Eighty Days.

His latest foray on the stage follows a similar route to the book. Split in two, the show sees Palin take the crowd on a whistle-stop tour of the globe through tales of adventure, cock-ups and an accompanying holiday snaps, before looking back to where it all started in Sheffield and his part in the Monty Python saga.
