Overview
I don't like referring to things as underground because I don't wear lense-less glasses and also because the term reminds me of the mole people, but Moonshine Method genuinely is underground. In both the literal and metaphorical sense. The Wine Cellar on K'Road is below ground level.
Curated by Raji and starring performances by emerging musical talent, tonight's lineup includes Lilo Peaks with electronic beats, Harvey Warbanger, otherwise known as drummer Jared Edwards, on the uke with some classic folk-based tunes, and some soul brought by crooners Leea and Brayden.
Music aside, Mohamed Hassan, journalist, poet, co-founder of Waxed Poetic Revival, and TEDxAuckland speaker has a spoken word performance lined up that promises to get your noggin whirring. And an exhibit by Lucie Blaze, skateboard illustration designer, will be on display for a mere half hour between 8pm and 8:30pm, so a bit of time management for the evening wouldn't go amiss.
Sip a drink, feel cultured, be enlightened. You don't even have to dress up because the lighting is very dim down there. Underground. Below the ground.
