Continuing their fine tradition of free open-air cinema, Auckland Council have brought back another season.

Hosted in parks all over Auckland, the events run through Autumn, playing big ticket blockbusters, that you’ve probably already seen. But then, it’s not just about the movie is it? It’s about the bean bag you lugged from the car, your chilly bin full of wine and cheese, and wiggling your cold toes under your neighbour’s bum.

What’s more, since you’re not all sardined into a cinema there are no loud popcorn eaters to get annoyed at, people who talk are not nearly as loud, you pay normal price for your treats, and cellphone beeps get drowned out by the chorus of our night birds. Pop up the back for some open-air making out, or pile onto a rug with your best chums for a movie session that beats GoldClass a thousand times over.
