Overview

Auckland Council's much-loved entertainment series returns for summer with a bumper program of 50 free openair events. From January to April, sibling events Music and Movies in Parks will see 25 gigs and 26 movies play out under the stars of Tāmaki Makaurau. For its 27th year, nearly 60 musical acts will assemble on stages across the city's regional parks and reserves.

At this afternoon celebration of world music on Sunday, 19 January, Ijebu Pleasure Club will take over Auckland Domain's historic grand rotunda. The 11-piece powerhouse band will get you on your feet, singing and shaking your booty in equal measure. Also on the bill is Banda Latina who perform a repertoire of popular Latin songs, jazz, Latin rock, bolero and bossa nova.

Food trucks will be on-site and Auckland Council will be running a zero-waste system.
