Overview

Mad men, with flame retardant stomachs and burnt red lips will compete to see who can scoff the most chilli in the shortest amount of time - all for your viewing pleasure and/or horror. Yes ladies and gentlemen this is the grand final of New Zealand's chilli eating champs, where the king of the Scoville scale will be crowned.

Munching on dried and fresh chillies from all over the world, the competitors will experience sweaty brows, burning insides and unspeakable horrors the following day on the loo. Take in the competition safely from the sideline and enjoy the live acoustic tunes of Auckland band White Chapel Jack - or get a taste of the action by trying one of 100 hot sauces on offer. The chilli eating madness commences at 3.30pm but the festivities go on all day, so pop down to Sweatshop Brew Kitchen and witness chilli history being made.
