Overview

How often do us lovers of pop-culture get to see an exhibition of comic artwork? Let's face it, Armageddon's about it. Well comics fans, you're in for a rare treat with not one, but two exhibitions of local and international artworks. In conjunction with the Auckland Arts Festival and the Goethe-Institut, the St Paul St Gallery presents Nga Pakiwaituhi: New Zealand Comics and Comics, Manga & Co. - Germany's New Comics Culture.

Nga Pakiwaituhi: New Zealand Comics presents a diverse selection of work by some of the most powerful voices in contemporary New Zealand comic art. The exhibition is curated by NZ cartooning legend Dylan Horrocks and features work from established professionals to emerging and underground talent.

Comics, Manga & Co. - Germany's New Comics Culture sits accompanies the local contingent, drawing parallels and connections in the diversity and depth of the work, as well as a passion for comics.

Funny, dark and politically charged, this is a great opportunity to see high-quality artwork from leading illustrators such as Ant Sang, Mat Hunkin and Tim Molloy.
