Overview

The official NZ Music Month Summit is back again, offering Aucklanders a chance to hear from some of the country's most acclaimed musicians in an intimate setting. This year it's held inside the Auckland Museum's auditorium and is titled: For The Love of Music - Industry Professionals Talk Their Passion. The central theme here is passion and over several hours you'll hear from 15 well-known music Kiwi professionals about how music has altered the course of their lives.

The presentation will be split into blocks of four speakers and there will be a Q&A opportunity after each block — giving you the chance to ask questions about the individual journeys of these talented people. Artists and industry professionals featured include: Lorde's former manager Scott Maclachlan, GeorgeFM DJ Aroha Harawira, up-and-coming rapper Kings and countless others with a unique insight into what it's like to make a living off music in New Zealand. Tickets are free but must be booked beforehand. The event also marks the final weekend of Auckland Museum's NZ music exhibition: Volume — Making Music in Aotearoa.

Get into the NZMM spirit and gain a rare insight into the lives and passion of some of the country's most prominent musical tastemakers.
