Overview

Làng Phố, which translates as 'village city' in Vietnamese, depicts the shift in urbanisation of rural villages, and is portrayed through a magical circus show performed by the talented French-Vietnamese company Nouveau Cirque du Vietnam.

The traditional circus act explores the transition of Vietnamese culture in a light-hearted, imaginative and charming way.

The entire performance is a spectacle of contrast, from the juxtaposition of serene South Vietnamese music, to bass-heavy hip hop of the underground street dance culture, to a mix of circus tricks of contorting, juggling and aerial work.

Cultural elements such as woven rattan baskets and bamboo poles have been artfully incorporated into the performance to provide a unique ingenuity that will captivate your imagination.

À Ố LÀNG PHỐ is a show for the whole family, and a wonderfully thought-provoking piece demonstrating history, and contemporary culture.
