If society tell you that you’re too old to dress up as a cardboard robot and stalk the doorsteps of your neighbours with humble hopes of a sugar high, chances are you may be feeling a little lost as to how you might celebrate Halloween. Well, fear not! (Or do – it is Halloween, after all).

On Sunday October 27, MOTAT is opening its gates to Olde Halloween a spine-tingling evening of fun for Halloween lovers of all ages.

Those brave enough to explore can wander through the haunted Victorian Village to meet the terrifying Miss Havisham in the Chapel or check out the living doll in Willow Cottage. The mad of mind can crash the Madhatter’s tea party or jump aboard the K900 ghost train and head screeching and wailing into the misty unknown.

More artistically minded creepers can visit the Victorian Death Photography Studio to take some spooky snaps while the Black Fairy Grotto will adorn your face with gloriously ghoulish face paint.

If the sinister clowns and madcap gypsies are triggering some long-forgotten phobias, take a breather and tend to some planting in the pumpkin patch where young ones are invited to bring along their Jack O’ Lanterns to display.

And if those old boxes (or ‘robot limbs’) are still hanging about, you’ll be glad to know that the best dressed Halloweeners will win some great prizes.
