Overview
Canadian musician and all-around badass feminist Peaches is heading to our shores, and to be perfectly honest, if you don't get tickets to her show, you're going to regret it.
Peaches is a musician, producer, filmmaker and performance artist who completely gives you her piece of mind, messing with gender norms and your comfort levels while she's at it.
With anthems like 'Fuck the Pain Away' and 'Boys Wanna Be Her', this is the kind of music you'll want to turn up loud at a party and let things get wild.
If you're a little on the conservative side you may want to Google Peaches before you jump in and buy your tickets, her shows are not for the faint of heart, but come on — live a little. She'll be sure to give a lot of attitude on stage and a night to remember.
Having been to her show here in 2008, I can assure you, things are going to get full on. At the very least, you can expect crowd surfing and a sexually expressive show that keeps you on your toes, your heart racing as you anticipate her next move. Last time she climbed the stack of speakers and hung off the rails at the Powerstation — it was definitely an energy fuelled show. Some of the lucky ones in the front row got pulled up to dance, so if you're keen to get up close and personal, make sure you get in there.
This is not your typical show, a Peaches gig is a full experience and her costumes are just as outrageous as her lyrics. I don't know anyone else who could pull off a full suit with sewn on vulva like Peaches does so effortlessly.
What else in the teaches of Peaches? I'd suggest you grab your ticket to find out.
