Persona Non Grata Film Festival, a retrospective film festival is on its way to the big screens in Auckland. The series dives into thriller, horror and art cinema while putting the unsettling concept of identity under a lens for a closer inspection.

With the exploration of narrative tropes such as 'good-and-evil' twins, identity theft, and unexplainable personality distortion, Persona Non Grata is a dream for film buffs and novices alike.

The festival holds talks after selected screenings. The University of Auckland lecturers, Dr Misha Kavka and Professor Bernadette Luciano and film director Jake Mahaffy are offering a piece of their mind to provide context and explore deeper ideas.

The festival lineup includes experimental arthouse classics such as classic noir, retro science fiction, and gothic, including: 3 Women (1977), Lisa and the Devil (1973), Persona (1966), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Dark Passage (1947), Seconds (1996), The Dark Mirror (1946), The Tenant (1976), The Passenger (1975), and finally, Dead Ringers (1988).
