Overview

Over 90 000 people, across forty cities and seven different countries have jumped on the newest art exhibition bandwagon that is taking over the world. The Photo Laundry project has been running for the last four years internationally, and this year it will debut in Auckland. Also known as Sooshka, Russian for 'to dry something' the project is essentially a pop-up open air art gallery for any photographers, amateur or professional, to share their work.

The gantry in Silo Park will be strung with makeshift clotheslines covered with nothing but pegs, awaiting photo contributions from Auckland's photographers. Participants are asked to peg their own photo, and in turn are invited to select an image by another photographer to take home.

So whether you fancy yourself a bit of an Annie Liebovitz, or even if you are just pretty adept at using the old sepia filter on Insta, get amongst Auckland's photography scene this May.
