Since opening in 2005, Auckland's Hallertau Brewery has established itself at the forefront of New Zealand's craft beer scene, building an impressive reputation as a result. Seemingly always one step ahead, Hallertau is consistently crafting and creating unique brews, adding to its ever-expanding range. The brewery's latest: a pickle beer.
Once head brewer Steve Plowman got a taste of McClure's Pickles there was no going back. Now shipped direct to New Zealand from Detroit, USA is McClure's world renowned spicy garlic and dill pickle brine.
The result? A refreshingly light pickle gose with a slight spice, perfect for the upcoming summer months. This hoppy little number is only available at K' Road's Lovebucket and Hallertau's own biergarten for a limited time, so visit promptly to ensure you don't miss out.
What's more, you can help celebrate the ingenious pickle brew on Saturday 4 November at the official Pickle Party. The McClure's Spiced Pickle Gose will be on tap at Hallertau alongside a pickle-specific menu, including pickle martinis, deep fried pickles and the likes.
The pickle soundtrack will be provided by DJ Parks.
