Overview

It's all happening in Auckland this anniversary weekend. SeePort Festival will celebrate Auckland's rich maritime heritage with drone races, navy boat tours and fireworks; Silo Park's Ice Cream Sundae is a market entirely dedicated to frosty treats; and Auckland Folk Festival will line up every stringed instrument under the sun.

From Saturday, 30 January to Monday, 1 February, Mount Wellington shopping centre Sylvia Park will play host to a pop-up carnival. The free-entry amusement park will be open from 11am to 10pm each day (4pm on Monday) with a selection of extreme rides from Mahon Amusements.

The lineup is set to include the 'Turbo Boost', which spins up to 120 kilometres per hour. Carnival games and fairground food complete the atmosphere. The pop-up carnival will present a happy hour everyday from 11am to midday, where visitors receive a free spin on the same ride the second time around. Ride coupons will be available to purchase on the day from the ticket box.
